"'The days are coming,' declares the Lord, 'when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteousness.'" (Jer. 23:5,7)

This is a beautiful picture of Jesus Christ. The amazing thing is, it was written in the Old Testament, long before He was ever born. I think it's so wonderful that God gives us a picture of the Messiah throughout the entire Old Testament so throughout history, people can look back at the Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah and realize that only Jesus Christ fulfills them. It was through the messianic prophecies ( written long before Jesus was ever born but describing his life so beautifully) that I came to faith in Jesus. This has been the case with many, many people. No matter how one comes to faith in Jesus, it is truly a marvellous, transforming work of God!!!!
